The Rock

I know that I am a little late in posting this Father's day gift idea but I had to share it because my son had so much fun making this. We found a decent sized rock and spray painted it green then I let my son go to town with markers, paints and pretty much anything else he wanted to use to decorate it. When it was all dry we placed the stickers on it so that it would say "you rock" and waalaa it is a you rock, rock.

At the time I didn't even think about the fact that this would have to find a home somewhere and I was glad to see that it did not end up with all the other rock collections that my son keeps around the house. I am happy to report that it is living happy and comfortable in the garage on one of daddy's work shelves.

First time for everything

I am going to step out of my blogging comfort zone of crafty ideas and tell you about this super fun giveaway at http://toomuchsugar4u.blogspot.com/. She had the fun idea of doing a "check out giveaway" full of things you would find at the supermarket check out (isn't she clever).

This post is bitter sweet because as excited as I am to enter I also want to selfishly keep this info to myself to inflate my chances of winning lol. So go look at her blog but keep you hands of my snickers ha ha.

Baby Gifts

I am the proud aunt of a new baby girl!!! She is stunning and her Mommy did such a great job getting her here. I was excited to bring her a little gift and I found this cute pattern over at www.makeitandloveit.blogspot.com. I made a test pair first to work out some of the kinks so her fabric ended up being a little cuter than these, but my son was super excited that he got to keep the first set. She came a little early so I haven't had a chance to make her some matching burp cloths yet but I plan on getting around to that soon. I think my fam is getting a little burnt out on my "homemade" kick but I can't help it I have so much fun with it.

I'm in love with these cookies

If you know me you know how much I love to bake and I especially love to make a good cookie. But how can you beat a Lofthouse cookie? Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm they are amazingly addictive so I thought they would make a great gift for the doctors. I made some fun pinwheels and stuck them on the box as a decoration. I read somewhere that you can gain weight just from salivating over a food (something to do with your body creating the insulin or some crap like that ha ha) so just by looking at this picture I think I have gained a pound or two.

"Piggy" bank

My son and I made this "piggy" bank together a while ago. We used a plastic bottle (I think it was like a Gatorade bottle or maybe vitamin water) then we decorated it with craft paper, puff paint for the eyes, and large marshmallows for the feet. I cut the slit with an exacto knife and waaaalaaa "piggy" bank!!

Breadstick Love

It has been a while since I posted and even longer since I posted about food. And those of you that know me also know that I loooooove food. I know that I have mentioned this web site before but now I can say that I actually made this recipe for breadsticks twice from http://karaskitchencreations.blogspot.com/ and oh my gosh they really do taste like the pizza factory breadsticks. Go here and it will link you directly to this recipe but you should go look around at the other recipes that she has because they are worth it. Here are some pics of how mine turned out and if I could somehow arrange for the smell of them to tumble out of your speakers you wouldn't hesitate to give them a try.
