Craft SOS

Ok crafty friends I need your help. I have this beautiful cake stand that sits in my kitchen day after day empty…………

Now you see the problem huh?

I bake cookies and other treats but either we eat them super fast or they sit in this cute little guy and are forgotten about until they look like some sort of science project lol. So I am begging looking for a way to craft it up and add something cute  to it so that it doesn’t look so naked and sad all the time. Any suggestions??

  1. I've got one of those too, but mine is high up in a cabinet and I maybe get it down once a year. I WISH I was crafty enough to give you a wonderful idea, but sadly I have none to offer. Stopping by from SITS to say hello!!

  2. You are going to be surprised that I'm not suggesting decoupage, but I think there's a better way. I would do glass etching! Something like this:

You can get Armour Glass Etching cream at Michaels. Free designs are all over the internet!

  5. Yup! I agree with Amy, It looks like it's begging to be etched! Maybe different sized polka dots all over. I did dots on some glass jars (sorry no pics), but they looked so cute. Good luck!

  6. You could always put fake goodies in them. My MIL has the CUTEST fake candies in a dish with her china...

But I would stick to the seasons. Right now you need a stack of pumpkins in there! The cute little colorful ones!

  7. What about putting seasonal non-food decor in it?

  8. Have you come up with a solution? I just did one with etch!! I put stars on it! It turned out really cute!! I can't wait to hear what you do to it!!

  9. My two cents? Love the etching idea of polka dots all over it. Perfect. If you keep it plain or still want something in it, definitely fill it with seasonal stuff. Lemons and artichokes in the summer, gourds in fall, pinecones or red berry bunches in the winter. Oh the possibilities! Let us know what you decide to do!

  10. You could treat it like a bell jar. Sometimes people will put a small (fake) plant under one. I have put red and green apples under mine at Christmas. Small pumpkins or gourds would be cute too.

  11. do you know that you can turn it over and make it like a "punch bowl?" then you really could put some cute seasonal stuff in it!
