With a little inspiration from Fun on a dime and because my family is such a big fan of Glass Candy I decided I have to give rock candy a try!!
Apparently this is quite the touchy recipe and finding the right instructions has proven to be super tricky. I will post the recipe once I know that it works lol.
My son is so excited and keep checking it like every ten seconds ha ha.
Now we wait and hope that it turns out something like this………
Okay remember this is creative “attempts” so I plan to show you the good and the bad, but I am determined to make this work so cross your fingers :)
good luck! my mom used to always make rock candy when we were little, but never all pretty on a stick just in a pan on parchment and then broken up. i hope yours is all pretty and yummy!
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool! I may just have to try this for myself :)
ReplyDeleteBe sure to share with us what it looks like when it is finished!
I've wanted to do this with my kids for so long! I can't wait to see how yours turns out!

Wow, you even got the proper sticks and everything. Very professional looking.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds great! You definately can link it back to mine and I'd love to share your results, because I'm sure they will turn out better than mine! We are going to be "re-doing" this again in the next week and see if we can come out with something better!

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if I should wish you good luck or not! If it works I might be forced to show it to my kids... and I'm not sure if I can handle 5 kids all high on a stick full of sugar ;)
ReplyDeleteOoooo Fun!! We had a child make rock candy for their science project, it didn't turn out very well but they thought the process was fun and my son wants to do it now. I can't wait to see your results!
